(2017-2018, co-financed by the Administration of the Romanian Cultural Patrimony AFCN).<\/p>\r\n CDFD annual exhibitions<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\r\n We finance group\/collective projects:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\r\n HOME IS WHERE, by Annemarie Bala, Ioana C\u00e2rlig, Daniela Groza, and RoxiPop around the idea of family in Romanian society. (2018, co-financed by the AFCN)<\/p>\r\n REALIT\u0102\u021aI POSIBILE, by Mihai \u0218ov\u0103ial\u0103, Bogdan Tutuneanu, Ioana C\u00eerlig, and Petru\u021b C\u0103linescu \u2013 each such \u201cpossible reality\u201d documents a story, based on the concept of plan versus reality in Romanian society; in parallel, Maria Gu\u021bu works on a roadtrip story in the Republic of Moldova. (2019, cofinanced by the AFCN)<\/p>\r\n Ongoing Cdfd Projects<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\r\n DRUMUL L\u0102UTARILOR (Road of the L\u0103utari), Ioana C\u00eerlig \u2013 A visual, journalistic, and ethno-musicological documentation of the life and music of women and children in the l\u0103utari (Romani folk musicians) communities in Romania. (2020, co-financed by the AFCN)<\/p>\r\n 5 UNDER 30 \u2013 A grant and mentorship programme for five young debuting photographers. (2020, co-financed by the AFCN)<\/p>\r\n DACII \u0218I ROM\u00c2NII (Dacians and Romanians) \u2013 Petru\u021b C\u0103linescu launches on a visual exploration of contemporary reinterpretations of the Romanian people\u2019s founding myth. (photo and video project, co-financed in 2018-2019 by the AFCN)<\/p>\r\n MAREA NEAGR\u0102 (Black Sea), Petru\u021b C\u0103linescu \u2013 The project began in 2010 and is still ongoing, after being financed and co-financed, over time, by the German Marshall Fund and the AFCN. Once documentation is finished, the project will be published in a photography album. So far, Marea Neagr\u0103 has had exhibitions in Brazil, Prague, Istanbul, Poland, and Romania. The project appeared in the form of an interview with Petru\u021b C\u0103linescu in the New York Times.<\/p>\r\n 10 ANI PE CANAPEA (10 Years on the Sofa), Petru\u021b C\u0103linescu \u2013 Romanians spend more time watching TV than any other Europeans: 330 minutes a day on average, compared to Europe\u2019s 220. Internationally, we are narrowly \u201ebested\u201d only by Saudi Arabia and the Philippines. All in all, an adult Romanian has already spent ten years of his life in front of the TV. (documentary short, co-financed by the AFCN in 2018 and 2019)<\/p>\r\n Zines & books<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\r\n PeriferiaB (Petru\u021b C\u0103linescu) \u2013 A project about life on the outskirts of Bucharest, a visual census at the periphery of the Romanian capital, ending with the launch of the peripheral newspaper \u2013 a single-edition experimental print (36 pages, 500 copies) distributed for free and designed by Radu Manelici, a finalist in the 2018 Romania\u2019s Most Beautiful Books.<\/p>\r\n C\u00e2nd se las\u0103 seara peste Rom\u00e2nia (When the Night Has Come, Petru\u021b C\u0103linescu) \u2013 a photography album created in partnership with the Recolamp Association, illustrating Romania\u2019s day-to-day life after sundown. Design by Radu Manelici, a finalist in the 2018 Romania\u2019s Most Beautiful Books.<\/p>\r\n Previous projects<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\r\n POST-INDUSTRIAL STORIES (photography album), a project by Ioana C\u00eerlig and Marin Raica, co-financed by the AFCN in 2013, won second place in the 2014 LensCulture Exposure Awards and first place in the Portrait category of the 2016 Balkan Photo Awards; it was a finalist in the 2016 Kuala Lumpur Photoawards 2016 and the 2016 Fotofilmic Traveling Exhibition. Between 2012 and 2019, Post-Industrial Stories was shown in Venice, Paris (the 2019 Circulation(s) Festival, the 2017 La Quatri\u00e8me Image Festival), London (Photo London), Kuala Lumpur, The Hague, Amsterdam, Berlin, New York, Tokyo, and Vancouver. Materials from it, including interviews and various selections of works, appeared in Der Spiegel, the Inge Morath Magazine, L\u2019Oeil de la Photographie, Feature Shoot, Lensculture, Internazionale, It\u2019s Nice That etc. In 2019 it won the Fujifilm Award.<\/p>\r\n M\u00c2NDRIE \u0218I BETON (Pride and Concrete, photography album & dedicated website), a project by Petru\u021b C\u0103linescu and Ioana C\u0103linescu, co-financed by the AFCN, was exposed in Berlin, London, Sarajevo, Belgrade, Vienna, and Kaunas (Lithuania). The corresponding short film was included in several specialised festivals (Lisbon, Budapest, Vienna etc). The bilingual website continues to draw traffic from several countries, and in March 2018 the creators were invited to show M\u00e2ndrie \u0219i beton (finished in 2012 with support from the AFCN) in the Live Magazine show, in front of a public of 1.500, at the Casino de Paris.<\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\n International recognition<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\r\n Interna\u021bional \/ Sezonul Rom\u00e2nia-Fran\u021ba 2019<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Photographer Ioana C\u00eerlig (co-founder of the CdFD) was invited to expose her works in Paris in 2019 as part of the European young photography festival \"Circulation(s)\", at Le Centquatre-Paris, in the Focus Romania section, created in partnership with Sezonul Rom\u00e2nia-Fran\u021ba 2019.
